Roof Top Landscape At Banani Bay,Dhaka

*Roof Top Landscaping By Arham Chowdhury
*From Architect's Diary:
If I am to explain this landscaping, here taking queue from the style of a basic straight line kind of architecture - have tried to give a somewhat complimentary impression.
Using an all-natural material, a simple Zen like nearly silent stone tower water feature is set within natural stone bed water basins.
The trickling water feature if left on for long may invite birds to it and the size of the towers may make it a hangout for them.
A monochromic green palate is predominantly used, not many contrasting types are brought in and have tried to keep a harmony so that all looks natural together.
There are tiny flowers of various types; flowers for butterflies, plants to keep mosquito away, aromatic flowers and climbers for both colors and scent is also planted and the side edges are done with grass to make the features blend in with the rest of the grassed rooftop.
This garden will hopefully require not too much of upkeep but with a periodic work will enable it to have different looks at different stages.
There is a saying a garden is like a painting where the brush is never washed, it is an unending work of art.
